Wondering what apps to install?
In this article, I will show you the best Microsoft Office mobile apps to download and install.
Let’s get started.
Table of Contents:
Core Applications
As you know, mobile apps have a range of powerful tools that were designed for productivity on the go.
Maybe not as powerful as their desktop counterparts, but they can still help you finish some tasks while on the road.
Here are the core apps that I suggest you install:
1. Microsoft 365 Copilot
If you’re already familiar with Copilot (an AI-powered assistant), there’s actually a mobile app version of it.
It can help you create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations directly from your mobile device.

With Copilot, you can:
- Generate content
- Summarize information
- Share and co-author files in real-time
- Manage your emails and calendar
Copilot integrates smoothly with other Microsoft 365 apps, which allows you to switch between tasks quite easily.
It also has an intuitive interface, and there are regular updates that bring in new features and improvements.
Available on both Google Play and Apple App Store.
2. Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word’s mobile app brings the power of word processing to your fingertips.
Using this app, you can create, edit, and share documents directly from your mobile device.

With this, you can:
- Apply styles and formatting to documents
- Collaborate in real-time
- Access documents anywhere
- Use text predictions
What’s even nicer is that the app supports various file formats so there’s still compatibility with desktop versions.
Since we’re talking about an app here, it has a user-friendly interface that’s optimized for touch navigation.
Anyway, there would be no need to go home or access your desktop for a quick draft or check on a detailed report.
Available on both Google Play and Apple App Store.
3. Microsoft Excel
Excel’s mobile app will allow you to create, view, and edit workbooks anytime and anywhere.
The app also supports rich formatting options so you can customize cell styles and layouts to suit your needs.

With it, you can:
- Input and organize data
- Perform complex calculations
- Create and edit charts
- Collaborate in real-time
Even if we’re talking about spreadsheets here, the touch-friendly interface steps up to make even data manipulation easy.
You can use this app to track expenses, analyze data, or even manage projects even if you don’t have your desktop.
Available on both Google Play and Apple App Store.
4. Microsoft PowerPoint
With PowerPoint’s mobile app, you can create, edit, and present slideshows from anywhere.
Similar to Word, this app can support different file formats so compatibility with desktop versions won’t be an issue.

With this, you can:
- Create slides with rich formatting and images
- Collaborate in real-time
- Access files anywhere
- Deliver presentations without a laptop
- Use a variety of pre-designed templates
This is a nice app to have especially when you’re preparing a business proposal or a school project and you’re traveling.
